Let’s visit Newlands Corner

By | 21st August 2017

Located in Surrey, Newlands Corner is an excellent viewpoint looking over the hills towards the South.

You might be surprised to find out just how near this viewpoint is to a large town and from London or the South coast…

Newlands corner is actually only 4 miles from Guildford town centre – so easily reached by car or taxi. Guildford itself has good rail and road connections.

When you arrive the car park is right at the top of the hill (some people even just take in the view through their car windscreen!)

Behind the car park you will find the visitor centre as well as the cafe alongside:

In front of the car park you have access to the hillside – it is fairly steep in places but there are easier paths for you.

I actually used the hills at Newlands corner for early morning training sessions myself before I went on my ‘expedition’ with Ray Mears back in January 2006.

(A one day expedition, walking through the woods and learning basic bushcraft.)
